Chihuahuas are very clever little dogs so having a harness that fits them properly and is secure is very important. A sign of a poorly fitted harness is that when a Chihuahua walks forward, it is okay, but they slip the harness when they start waking backwards.
It’s the most worrying time when a dog slips their harness vest. Let’s not forget chihuahuas are quick and often quite stubborn so getting them back safely after they have slipped their harness can be a struggle.
